I thought you all might like to see how my garden’s looking at the moment. It’s the usual tangled of partially-kempt plants, and merry surprises.. but, heck, I like it that way!

First up, these bolshy begonias! I am utterly astounded by the performance of these.. you may recognise the flower form as Begonia elatior, which was traditionally a houseplant.. But, now new breeding means the flowers are bigger, weatherproof and can stand sun as well as shade…!

Eek, that’s my favourite Gazania right now! From the ‘Sunbathers’ Series, these funky blooms are open whatever the weather. Tbh, they’re now overshadowed by my gargantuan Helianthus maximiliani, but still performly superbly!

Cerinthe! One of the most promiscuous annuals in the garden, new colours and strains are throwing themselves up all the time! This little lad has a gorgeous multi-tone appearance!

I tried a little experiment, which has gone a little wrong. I’m still giving a few more weeks, so won’t spill the beans just yet. But, this glorious Borage is all part of it! You can’t not take a good picture of this one!

Here’s my entry in the Ideal world shopping channel ‘Lily grow off’ and it’s looking strong! It’s a new, stargazer-challenging oriental lily, which- as you can see- is great for pots, not too tall, not too short!

Most people giggle when they say the name of this one, but not me, I am ever the professional…! Delosperma, the Ice Plant, is a plant that loves neglect, so perfect for gallivanting people like myself!

We’ve come a long way since terracotta pots with swirly patterns on the side! These achingly contemporary containers suit Petunia ‘Rim Magenta’ perfectly well! Sooooooo sexy!

Lastly, and I still can’t remember where I bought the vases, we have these carnival-esque Petunia ‘Frills and Spills’.. UK-bred, packed with petals and with a perfume you could bottle. Lush!!
