You might have seen me asking you to vote for mrplantgeek.com in the UK Blog Awards 2019 – well, I’m pleased to say that I’m a finalist!
Thanks to the fabulous readers of this blog, I’m one of the top 8 in the Nature & Wildlife category. This means that I’ll go through to the final round of judging, where Kate from Kate on Conservation and another expert judge will review each blog and select a winner.
It’s very exciting, and a huge honour, to be recognised for the work that is put into this website to make it an important resource for Plant Geeks everywhere. Of course, I am crossing my fingers to be picked as a winner for this category, but either way I will always take great pride and joy in creating an online space for me and my readers to read about and discuss everything to do with the world of plants.
Michael has been involved with gardening and plants since he was just five years old. He is a self-professed Plant Geek, and was listed in the Sunday Times top 20 most influential people in the gardening world, thanks to his plant hunter role at Thompson & Morgan.
Michael was responsible for new plant introductions such as the Egg and Chips plant and the FuchsiaBerry and keeps busy travelling the world in search of new plants as well as lecturing worldwide, including stints in Japan. He is very active on social media – so why not give him a follow at @mr_plantgeek or Facebook.
