The oldest botanical garden in London, Chelsea Physic Garden is situated close the banks of the River Thames and is home to more than 5,000 medicinal, herbal, edible and very useful plants! Read more in my inside guide.

Chelsea Physic Garden is easily accessible from Victoria station. It’s just a leisurely 10 minute walk, and you’ll pass some lovely gardens and unique plants, thanks to that beneficial London micro-climate!

Tickets start at just £17, which includes entry to the garden, and a glass of something VERY LOVELY. You can also upgrade to a dinner ticket, with sittings for dinner being 5.45pm and 8.30pm. The talk itself is from 7pm on the evening of Friday 6th July. Reserve your place here.

    I love all these weird plants. When I was a child, I collected cacti, lithops, and fly-traps gallore, and always sought out these stands at shows. Still do,but don’t tell anyone!
