I’ve written about the original Chick Charms here – but do you know about Chick Charms Giants? They’re practically indestructible, just like their namesake, but they can grow to the size of a gallon pot or bigger! And, like the originals, they’re collectible, too!

What’s different about this plant?
Chick Charms Giants are just like the original Chick Charms, but they’re supersized! That means that if you adore the charm and cuteness of those colourful succulents, but you’d like them to fill a larger space in your rock garden, or a larger pot, Giants are the way to go.
Much like stamps and coins, Chick Charms Giants have become sought-after treasures among succulent enthusiasts and collectors alike. With their diverse array of colours, patterns and sizes, each Chick Charms Giants plant is a gem waiting to be discovered and nurtured.
Just as stamp collectors meticulously curate their collections to include rare and valuable pieces, plant lovers carefully select and cultivate their Chick Charms Giants to create stunning displays. From vibrant hues of pink and purple to dazzling shades of green and gold, these succulents offer endless possibilities for personalisation.
Unlike stamps and coins, however, Chick Charms Giants spread! That means, the more you buy, the more you grow!
Houseleek folklore Did you know that houseleeks used to be grown on roofs? They were grown in this position to ward off disasters like fires and lightning strikes, and of course to protect against evil spirits! The name ‘Sempervivum’ actually means ‘always alive’, as they’re so robust and hardy. Your house would always be spiritually protected if you had these growing on the roof! |

How were these plants created?
Chris Hansen is the creator behind the much-loved Chick Charms! You may also know his brand, Garden Solutions, as being responsible for the creation of popular collections such as Ajuga Feathered Friends, SunSparkler Sedums and HotCakes Delospermas.
Chris introduced Chick Charms to the market in 2016, and Chick Charms Giants followed in 2022! Over 25 years of hand breeding and selecting has gone into this collection. The Giants were bred specifically for their eye-popping size and vigour.

Where can you plant Chick Charms Giants?
Chick Charms Giants are ideally suited to well-drained soil in a full sun position. They are super low maintenance, and don’t require fertilising – in fact they do extremely well in a nutrient-poor soil. Even better, they’re hardy down to -25C.
Place your Giants in pots and rock gardens, or use them as ground cover. They’re so robust and unfussy that they can even be planted into gaps in stone walls, provided they have good drainage and sit in full sun!

Where can you buy Chick Charms Giants?
Chick Charms Giants are available at many retailers in the US, offline and online, including Garden Crossings. You will be able to find these stunning succulents in the UK soon!
